Welcome back friends from Sunday Snippets.  We've had a busy week mostly spent doing yardwork and working on the house.  With three little ones getting all this work done seems an impossible tasks at times.  Especially considering how much time I want to spend with my girls one-on-one.  I have a few posts this week:

A Daughters Love for Her Father

The Spiritual Answer, Turn to the Lord not Their Categories

The Subtle Agenda is Now in Your Face - The IRS

Hello Friends, its Mothers day and we'll be spending today with the grandmothers.  We were born into very pro-life families.  Blessed to have the insights that come from such an upbringing, its fitting that I was able to share the story about a Downs Syndrome boy who became the Prom King.  Loving Others, Prom King with Down Syndrome

Also in the news is a story that touches on the theme of Universal hospitality, something that I have been reading and giving considerate thought to.  Loving Others, Prom King with Down Syndrome

Thanks RAnn for hosting!

Pope Francis SermonWelcome back friends from Sunday Snippets.  Thank you RAnn for coordinating the Sunday Snippets sharing.  Its going to be a good weekend for our family.  My father is in town from New Jersey and were enjoying some good family time and the help with picking up mom and enjoying her company.  Hope to get some fishing in this weekend.

My first post was inspired by Pope Benedict's comments on the dignity of work: Why Do Things The Hard Way?

I enjoy Pope Francis' clarity and concrete preaching.  His comments on the virtue of shame are much needed: Shame, A Virtue of The Humble

And there's music, classicly trained musicians turned rocky folk musicians.  I'm a big fan of trad music being played in a family and natural community setting but these rocky folkers have a good spirit: Music To Touch The Soul

chronicling AprilI have finally put up my first Guest's Chair post in a long time, about 3 years.  This one is part of my series of posts on caring for my mother: Chronicling Her Presence, April 2013  I have posted it over at the Guest's Chair Journal.

The abortion debate over in ireland is upsetting because it has been such a fine example of a nation that cares for the unborn.  The current debate is one that highlights the importance of caring for both mother and child.  This is something that simply does not happen here, it's one sided focus on the mother.  However, the discussion is going a direction that is not good and could be exploited by the pro-choice movement: Codifying Existing Law or Legislating Abortion?

Thank you RAnn for coordinating Sunday Snippets again!

hurling picWelcome back friends, hope you are enjoying the nice weather, assuming its nice near you as well.  We had a good day, went to St. Louis, my wife for a baby shower and me to play hurling.  Love that sport just wish I was younger.  Right now I'm nursing a rather large hematoma from a careless and wild stick.  But it was worth it.

Its been a busy week, spending more time on helping friends with St. Mary of Victories new web site but did find the time for a couple posts on politics, particularly the public discourse approach of the current administration.

First, the Gosnell story is their opportunity to talk about the child and their talking point is still "we support choice."  Well, the born-alive babies are no longer affecting the mother's health or connected to their body.  So, choice has nothing to do wth this.
Carney Reveals Their Total Lack of Compassion

Then there's Obama's comments calling the gun lobby liars.  Does Obama get a pass on being presidential or has that concept died?

'They Willfully Lied' as Public Discourse?

Thank You RAnn, I enjoy the Sunday Snippet community.... Folks, Visit here and join the fun.
